The following members were present: Marjorie Wojcik, Chairperson, Donald Lamothe, Vice-Chairperson, Dana Cutter, Michael Pise and Chester Szetela.

Also present were Sharon Nawrocki, Richard W. Rege, Jr., JoAnn Kupiec, Ronald Simard, Kathleen Bernier, Sarah Hoar, Sandra Peret, Lisa Bienvenue, Frank Kolek and Jeanette DeForge (The Republican).

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Wojcik, Chairperson, at 6:55 PM.

1.         Approval of Minutes - March 13, 2006

VOTED: On motion by Mr. Pise to approve the minutes of the Finance and Budget Subcommittee held on March 13, 2006.

Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.

2.         FY 2007 Budget

VOTED:  On motion by Mr. Lamothe to discuss the FY 2007 budget.

Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.

The Subcommittee discussed the FY 2007 budget.  They reviewed a list of possible budget cuts which included cuts to the following lines:  Data Processing, Advertising, Auto Maintenance, Fuel Oil, Gas, Gifted, Light and Power, Maintenance of Grounds, Postage, Telephone, Water/Sewer, Maintenance of Buildings, Special Education Professional Services, Special Education  Travel, Special Education Equipment and Athletics.  Also included was the removal of staff requests such as an additional Custodian, Behaviorist at Lambert-Lavoie and Gym Teacher at Chicopee Academy as well as the request for a Professional Development Stipends line. 

*Mr. Pise left at 8:00 PM.

VOTED:  On motion by Mr. Lamothe to adjourn at 8:20 PM.

Hand vote – 4 present in favor – 1 absent and the motion PASSED.
