Finance and Budget Subcommittee

The following members were present: Marjorie Wojcik, Chairperson, Donald Lamothe, Vice-Chairperson, Dana Cutter, Michael Pise (8:20 PM) and Chester Szetela.
Also present were Sharon Nawrocki, Richard W. Rege, Jr., Shirley Alvira, JoAnn Kupiec, Ronald Simard, George Sakellis, Kathleen Bernier, Sarah Hoar and Jeanette DeForge (The Republican).
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Wojcik, Chairperson, at 7:00 PM.
1. Approval of Minutes – April 25, 2006
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Lamothe to approve the minutes of the Finance and Budget Subcommittee held on April 25, 2006.
Hand vote – 4 present in favor- 1 absent and the motion PASSED.
2. Presentation – Grants
Mrs. Alvira and Mr. Sakellis gave a brief presentation on grants.
*Mr. Pise arrived at 8:20 PM.
3. Discussion – FY 2007 Budget
The Subcommittee discussed the FY 2007. They reviewed possible savings in the Reproduction line item and Athletic User Fees.
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Pise to delete the Communication from Kevin Guillette, IKON Office Solutions from the Finance and Budget Subcommittee.
Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Lamothe to recommend to the full committee merging the four high school track teams into two co-op teams.
Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.
VOTED: On motion by Mrs. Wojcik to delete Athletic User Fees from the Finance and Budget Subcommittee.
Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Lamothe to refer the Budget for Fiscal Year 2007 still with a deficit of $1,051,731.00 to the full committee, to have the Superintendent and his Executive Team work on a layoff list with a PowerPoint presentation of what this budget will do to our system and further to delete from subcommittee.
Hand vote – 5 present in favor and the motion PASSED.
