The following members of the School Committee were present: Dana Cutter, David Barsalou, Marjorie Wojcik, Michael Pise, Susan Lopes, Donald Lamothe, Mary Beth Costello, Susan Lecca and Chester Szetela.
Absent were Mayor Michael Bissonnette, Debra Styckiewicz and Sharon Nawrocki.
Also present were Richard W. Rege, Jr. and Sarah Hoar.
Call To Order:
The meeting was called to order by Vice-chairperson, Mrs. Wojcik, at 7:00 PM.
1. Superintendent’s Evaluation
The School Committee reviewed each section of the Superintendent’s Evaluation.
*Mrs. Lecca left at 8:45 PM.
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Pise to receive the revised Superintendent’s Evaluation (June 2007).
Hand vote – 8 present in favor – 4 absent and the motion PASSED.
Old Business
Evaluation Training
VOTED: On motion by Mrs. Costello to set aside a training program for evaluations of the Superintendent.
Hand vote – 8 present in favor – 1 opposed – 3 absent and the motion PASSED.
Superintendent’s Evaluation
VOTED: On motion by Mr. Lamothe to refer the Superintendent’s Evaluation back to the Policy and Human Resources Subcommittee in order to develop metrics into goals.
Hand vote – 8 present in favor – 4 absent and the motion PASSED.
New Business:
Personnel Surveys
VOTED: On motion by Mrs. Lopes that our Director of Human Resources send before the board an exit interview compiled for us to receive, regarding reasons for leaving the school system, and a survey of a sampling of present staff as to why they choose to stay in Chicopee.
