Approval of Minutes:

 

08-4-1                                                 Move that, the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the School Committee held on March 19, 2008 be approved.

 

08-4-2                                                 Move that, the minutes of the Committee as a Whole Meeting of the School Committee held on March 26, 2008 be approved.

 

Financial Matters:

 

08-4-3                                                 Move that, the bills totaling $1,151,248.83 (Warrants S032808 and S040408) be approved.

 

Reports:                  

 

08-4-4                                                 Move that, the minutes of the Facilities Subcommittee held on March 25, 2008 be received.

 

Communications and Other Matters:  

 

08-4-5                                                 Move that, Ronald Simard, Director of Maintenance, be authorized to continue planning security improvements and window replacements at Litwin School and to bring back a formal proposal with an estimated cost to the full Committee, as recommended by the Facilities Subcommittee.

  

08-4-6                                                 Move that, the theater at Chicopee High School be named after Allan E. Sittard, as recommended by the Facilities Subcommittee.   

 

08-4-7                                                 Move that, Ronald Simard, Director of Maintenance, be authorized to start planning security improvements and window replacements at Bellamy Middle School and to bring back a formal proposal with an estimated cost to the full Committee, as recommended by the Facilities Subcommittee.

 

 

The following motion was defeated by the Facilities Subcommittee:  On motion by Mr. Szetela to recommend to the full Committee directing the Superintendent to research the best use of physical assets to most effectively service Chicopee’s students. (Please see minutes of the Facilities Subcommittee held on March 25, 2008.)

  

08-4-8                                                 Move that, the home education plans be approved, as listed.

 

08-4-9                                                 Move that, the Telecommunications Department by authorized to telecast live and videotape the Memorial Day Parade to be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008, at no cost to the school department.
